I grew up in western Kansas in a little town called Hays, America. After high school I attended school at Fort Hays State Unv., with a scholarship in Art. Finishing with a major and 2 minors in Art. All I took was art, from painting, print making, ceramics, sculpture, pencil drawing to advertising concepts.
In the early 90's I moved to Topeka, KS and started working for Ben Franklin's Arts and Craft store. Under the tutelage of Tom VonTheir (PPF), I was taught the basics of professional picture framing. One year later, I joined the Hobby Lobby team in 1993 and was the frameshop manager until June of 2004.
On September, 7th 2004, we opened the J. & Co. Frameshop.
With the help of my sister, Janelle Hood and brother, Joel, hence the name J & Co.
I guess my parents thought it would be funny to have their kids names begin with the letter J.

Over the years, I have attended classes and seminars on professional picture framing from the likes of Kay Evans, PPF, Vivian Kistlier, PPF and Jim Miller, PPF. Framing everything from 100yr old needle art to Violins, World War I memorabilia to Flags flown over Iraqi, sports collectiables from the late 1800’s to the up-and-coming high school sports stars and even a few pro athletes.
At the J. & Co. Frameshop, we specialize in museum and conservation quality framing. From shadow box's, needle art, prints and posters, anything you want to display.
